Works: Dolores Bouckaert

De breekbaarheid van het goede

Dolores Bouckaert invites relatives, fellow artists, writers and thinkers to expand upon one of the central themes of her work: the uneasy relationship between identity and physical condition of the body.

The catalyst for this research, a radical turnround in her health, provoked questions about the meaning and conditions of our moral actions. The reading together of The Fragility of Goodness by social philosopher Martha Nussbaum, forms a guideline for the conversations, which take place during walks and in Bouckaert’s studio. In collaboration with: Peter Aers, Wouter Hillaert, Maya Wilsens, Bart Capelle, Connie Palmen, Dirk De Wachter, Barbara Raes, e.a. Anyone wishing to join in the reading can email Dolores at dolly@salon-d.be.

Building on this research, Bouckaert presents the video essay Kwijt as the first part of a trilogy entitled Dolores zoekt Dolores. In this video essay she reflects openly on the answers her research offered, but also on the obstacles she encountered.
