David

DAVID, a travel through immobility

David is David by Michelangelo.

Three men are David, David is all men.
DAVID invites you to the obstinate observation of three men, posing like David. Three men try to keep this pose, like man, in his private and social life, tries to keep his rank, his role and his masculinity. DAVID proposes a travel to David, a travel to ‘man’, in all his ways of being, in all his rich complexity, his contradictions, his ever-changing moods, the turbulence of his soul, his fights and his failures.

The Davids are there, they look at us, they receive us, and they invite us. We look at them, and by continuously looking at them, we start to observe on their bodies the reactions on what moves them, on what makes them so alive. And soon, while we are looking, we arrive at the verge of their open soul. We can enter there, right to their heart, to the turbulence of their emotions.

Being David, being man.
David is man, being David is impossible. But then, what about being man?

An exigent performance that demands from the spectator the active concentration of an investigator or an alert traveler; indefatigable, curious and available.
